Use five questions to prepare the people, places and items that matter for the next day.

Ask five questions

  • Where does the child need to be first?
  • Who is responsible for getting there?
  • What must leave the house?
  • What one detail is different from an ordinary day?
  • Who needs that update tonight?

Prepare the friction points

Put required items in one visible place, confirm transportation and check the original notice for any unusual time or instruction. Avoid reorganizing the whole week when only tomorrow needs attention.

Keep in mind

If an item cannot be completed tonight, name the person and time for the next step instead of leaving a vague reminder.

Give the child a simple preview

Use a short sequence suited to the child: what happens first, what happens next and who will be there. If the plan changes, explain the new sequence calmly when there is time to listen.

  • Keep the explanation concrete
  • Mention what will stay familiar
  • Invite one practical question
  • Do not use the child to confirm adult arrangements
