  • Professional instruction is unclear: contact the identified school, clinician or authorized source.
  • Today affects transportation or care: ask one direct question with a response time.
  • Later planning detail: place it on the next coordination review.

Ask the smallest complete question

Name the child-related task, the missing fact and when it is needed. Include the source you already checked so another caregiver does not repeat the same search.

Keep in mind

Example: “The activity notice lists Thursday but not the arrival time. Do you have the complete notice, or should I call the program by 3:00?”

Close the loop in the current reference

Once the detail is confirmed, update the calendar, care sheet or other shared reference that the responsible adults actually use. Keep the original source nearby when its wording matters.
